This post marks the official launch of the Glam Luxe Mama blog! I could have never seen this coming, as I thought blogs were done 😂 I’ve quickly come to realize that there are folks out there that enjoy writing and reading still, myself included. What better thing to write about than all things luxury? The Beauty Beau will still be around for those who prefer the beauty and attainable stuff, but with a change in lifestyle and me being a mom now comes new interests…hence Glam Luxe Mama 🙂

So yesterday, I made this video live on YouTube, sharing 5 designer bags that are outdated, and my thoughts on whether you should hold onto them. Now, the word “outdated” is a touchy word. Y’all know I’m not one for listening to others’ out there and what they think I should keep or get rid of in my wardrobe. I mean, I’m still holding on for dear life to my skinnies while all the younger folks are in low riders! 🤣 In this blog post though, we will explore whether it’s time to ditch some of the well-known designer bags, namely the Louis Vuitton Multi Pochette Accessoires, Celine Nano Belt Bag, Valentino Medium Rockstud Bag, Gucci Marmont Camera Bag, and Givenchy Mini Antigona, in the year 2024. I’ll share my personal thoughts and what I think based on trends 🙂

1. Louis Vuitton Multi Pochette Accessoires

I was over the moon when this first dropped; I was actually one of the first batch of people able to get one (thanks to my amazing SA). This bag gained immense popularity for its versatility and functionality. However in 2024, it may be time for some to reconsider this bag. As y’all know, fashion trends have shifted more towards minimalism and larger bags. For me personally, I’m not ready to part with it yet. While I have embraced the quiet luxury trend, I’m not that grown yet and still love my logos! You may wish to opt for a more timeless design might be a better choice for the coming year, perhaps Empriente leather?

2. Celine Nano Belt Bag

The Celine Nano Belt Bag, and the Celine brand in general, have been staples in the fashion world, being timeless, modern, and quiet. However, as we enter 2024, it’s worth considering if this bag still aligns with the current fashion landscape. While the Nano Belt Bag is undoubtedly one of the most versatile bags in my collection, it may be overshadowed by new designs by Celine (hello Triomphe). It took a while for the Triomphe logo to grow on me, but once it did, I didn’t look back. I even have a couple of options on my wishlist! Although my eyes are on a couple of the latest launches, the Nano Belt Bag is here to stay in my collection…for now at least.

3. Valentino Medium Rockstud Bag

The Valentino Medium Rockstud Bag has become an iconic piece, adored for its edgy yet feminine appeal. With the rise of minimalist and clean-cut designs, the Rockstud’s bold and embellished aesthetic may feel less relevant. I personally think I enjoy the color of this bag over anything else. Sometimes it can honestly be tricky to style with pieces in my wardrobe. I’m not quite ready to part with it yet and only time will tell if I change my mind. You should consider whether this bag still complements your evolving style or if it’s time to explore more contemporary options.

4. Gucci Marmont Camera Bag

The Gucci Marmont Camera Bag has been a beloved choice for its timeless design and recognizable GG logo. It was the very first designer bag in my collection 🥹 I can’t tell you how many looks I’ve styled this bag with, but it’s still worth questioning if the Marmont’s logo-centric style will remain a sought-after option. Fashion trends are shifting towards subtlety and understated elegance, which may make this bag feel less current. Therefore, choosing alternative designs that align with the evolving fashion landscape might be a wise decision, such as one from the Ophidia lineup of bags.

5. Givenchy Mini Antigona

The Givenchy Mini Antigona has been a favorite among fashion enthusiasts for its structured silhouette and luxurious appeal. It sure does come in some beautiful colors! However, as we look ahead to 2024, it’s essential to consider if this bag will continue to be a timeless investment. The Antigona has proven its staying power and ability to add a bit of class to countless looks of mine. Although fashion is ever-changing, I don’t think the Antigona has quite hit its expiration yet. There are so many styles to choose from, as well as sizes. It’s truly a classic and it’s quiet.

Deciding whether to ditch or keep your beloved designer bags in 2024 is a personal choice. It’s essential to consider the evolving fashion landscape, emerging trends, and your own style preferences. While the Louis Vuitton Multi Pochette Accessoires, Celine Nano Belt Bag, Valentino Medium Rockstud Bag, Gucci Marmont Camera Bag, and Givenchy Mini Antigona have all enjoyed their time in the fashion spotlight, reassessing their relevance in the coming year can help ensure that your collection stays current and aligned with your personal evolving fashion sensibilities. Remember, fashion is about self-expression and personal style, so ultimately, the decision is yours on whether to keep or ditch.
